Bench series #20

For the month of May I’m looking for benches at the beach

Manly Wharf
Looking out at Manly Wharf, NSW, Australia

If you would like to join in with the Bench photo challenge then please take a look at my Bench Series page. No complicated rules, just a bench and a camera required 🙂

  • Create your own post and title it Bench Series: May
  • Include a link to this page in your post so others can find it too
  • Add the tag ‘bench series’ so everyone can find the benches easily in the WP Reader
  • Get your post in by the end of the month, as the new bench theme comes out on the first Sunday in June.

My Picks of the Week:

Aletta is in one of my favourite parts of the Cape.
Tgeriatrix has more benches in Belgium – now why does it feel so flat there?
Anabel takes us for a stroll around Dunbar, you’ll need a sit on that bench after this.
Pauline is waiting for the sun to rise. Well at least that’s what I think she is doing here.
And Debbie takes us to Broadstairs this week. There is a very good ice-cream parlour in Broadstairs if you happen to be that way. If you saw Mary Berry’s program on Friday night (UK) you will have seen it (and the knickerbocker glory). When I was a kid I dreamed of having one of those. Unfortunately a 99 was the most my parents could afford.

My Picks of the Week:

Pauline has a couple of bench posts this week. One close to home and several others in ‘The Giant’s House’ in New Zealand.
Sylvia meanwhile is having a ‘lazy sunny afternoon‘ complete with the Kinks for those of you old enough to remember them.
Cathy  is ‘on the beach‘ with her view of an Hawaiin beach, but sadly gladly Cliff Richard doesn’t join us.
Whilst poor Tgeriatrix has caught the bug and sees benches everywhere she goes with two offerings from the north   coast of Belgium.
Gilly provides us with a bench from which to admire a west country sunset.

And although no beach in sight, Carol has some wonderful tulips to share. But beware there is yet another video clip attached to the post that you may wish to avoid. Just saying…

Thanks to all for showing me your wonderful beaches around the world.

My Picks of the Week:

Tish Farrell, a writer on the edge, introduces me to a bench with a view not too far from me, but where I have never been!
Sherri shows us around a lovely parkland with a bench at the beginning and end of her post.
Tgeriatrix joins in this month with two wonderful views: here and here
Cathy is already on the coast, whilst Elaine looks out over a chilly Firth of Clyde.
The Lucid Gypsy is over at Forde Abbey and another newcomer, Ruth, has a fabulous mysterious view.

Thanks to everyone who has joined in this month with their bench views 🙂

We find Jack lazing by the river in Australia
then we move to Africa with a view over the Zambesi

Many thanks for all your links – remember this is the last week for a bench with a view.

A picnic bench on Cathedral Beach, Yosemite Valley, with a view of El Capitan

My Picks of the Week:

Some that I particularly liked this week are from Jo, who managed to capture a few benches into her weekly walking post. Pauline has a bench on a ship – don’t get many of those on here! Karen (formerly Elizabeth) has benches galore on one of my favourite walks around Sydney. And I particularly like those curvy ones.
If you are a Francophile you will enjoy this view from Klara.

A new entrant this month is soletusknow with a lovely soft photo of a bench practically IN the water. Aletta’s bench is deceptive – don’t get too comfy. And finally Yvette has a tour around Washington DC, with a bench of course.

Thanks to everyone who joined in – more links can be found within the comments so do have a look around.
