Grey sky blushes pink
All is calm on the water
Crested Grebes head home
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

Very restful images Jude, beautiful!
Thanks Gilly.
How lovely. It looks so peaceful.
It was!
Lovely light and shadow, and water textures: the embodiment of serenity.
I’ll nick the images to look at if serenity escapes me as I travel. But it won’t. The journey will be a piece of cake. Only two more sleeps at home.
You obviously travel better than I do. I loathe flying these days.
Beautiful shot and so peaceful.
Thanks!
Gorgeous scenes, Jude. Perfect for the challenge. Loved your haiku too. 🙂
Ah, thanks Sylvia. Thought I’d have a go at something different (for me). Glad you like it.
So serene Jude, beautiful compositions.
Thanks PP 🙂
Blissfully peaceful ….
It was rather…
The composition and texture on the grebe are wonderful, funny I probably would have tried to shoot without the piers, but I like it with!
I think I was after the reflections on this shot. I do have one of the grebe on its own (in the rain)

Superb, Jude! 🙂 Of course, I didn’t realise it was a haiku- just thought you were feeling poetic.
I thought I’d have a go. I used to write a lot of poetry years and years ago, mainly teenage angst! Thought I’d try something a little different 🙂
So funny! I think I have the memory of a duck! (but that’s insulting ducks 🙂 ) Humble apologies. 😦
Apologies are unnecessary Jo – I can’t expect you to remember every blog you read – you have a BIG fan club 😀
So lovely and still. This reminds me of loons in Canada (decades ago!), whose haunting call would echo over the lake at twilight.
Twilight, I love that word, should have used it here. That must have been a lovely sight. So many lakes in Canada.
So many mosquitoes and black flies, too — who like to come out at twilight. 😉
Ah, that’s not so nice…
