With love from the Ludlow swans

…on Valentine’s Day.

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. They are beautiful , Jude! I aaaaalmost managed to get a photo like this last week, two second later the turtle swans swam apart and the ❤ was gone …

    With love to you…

    1. I was watching these two play for several minutes and was very lucky to get this shot. Love your Snoopy collage ❤ ❤ ❤

    1. I am a Valentine’s Day conscientious objector, but hey, why not take advantage of the opportunity to post my swans 😀 And we will open the champagne tonight, but for a very different reason ❤

      1. I’m a bit of a Valentine cynic too Jude, but the photo was too good not to put iy in on this day. I’ll clink a glass with you and say “cheers”

  2. A perfect shot to accompany the day. We do a quiet celebration, but don’t buy into the frenzy. A nice Burgundy for me later, which I prefer to the fizzy stuff. Have a wonderful day.
    Regards as always, Pete. x

    1. Yes, I was very lucky to see this, they were mock courting (same family so I assume it was mock, I’m not an expert in swan mating habits 😉 )

  3. Perfect symbol of Valentine’s Day, Jude. I hope you enjoyed your champagne; any reason is good enough. I was miserably sick all day. I slept almost the entire day. Cheers!

    1. Sorry to hear you were sick Cathy, hope you are much better now and things are going well for you and the home renovations. Just been watching Michael Portillo journeying through your part of the world on the TV. You have some lovely places in Virginia.

      1. Thanks, Jude. I was so sick from Valentine’s Day until just last Sunday, but at least I’m feeling better now. The home renovations should be picking up momentum soon. I saw on your blog you’re about ready to move to Cornwall. I know you’ve been looking forward to that for a long time. Good luck with your move!
