Wordless Wednesday: Wise

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude
Beautiful barn owl!
so beautiful
So beautiful Jude. Where is this wise one from?
She belongs to a bird sanctuary in the local area and was posing in the market during the food festival last September. i was very taken by her lovely feathers and how close I could get up to her.
What a great photo – the detail of the feathers is wonderful.
Aren’t they gorgeous? I was miffed that I didn’t have a different lens on the camera, but glad to get this close up to her.
You will need to travel with all your lenses with you at all times… 🙂
Hah! I suppose I should, but this was just a little wander up to the market.
What a beautiful photo!! I feel like I could reach out and feel the softness of her feathers!
Yes, just look at those ‘eyebrows’
Wordless and wise Jude, lovely sharp photo. I’ve seen them in flight at the Currumbin wild life sanctuary. They have a free flight show with the barn owl as well as a number of other birds.
Ah, they are so lovely in flight. We were fortunate to see one at dusk in Cornwall last year flying alongside the car. I was mesmerised by it and praying it wouldn’t fly into me.
They are so amazingly quiet in flight too.
