Thursday’s Special: Descent

descent-1

I’m not a huge fan of descending a spiral staircase, but they do have aesthetic appeal.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I used to have great problems getting ambulance cases down them, Jude. Still, better going down, than trying to get up them!
    Regards as always, Pete. x

    1. I am the same! Like a ladder! And why I dislike climbing towers in old castles where you have to come down forwards facing… gulp!

    1. I was going to post the whole of the staircase, but then I looked at it again and decided I preferred this cropped version which kind of hints at the danger of descent. Glad you like it! Not long to go before your hols now – you must be getting excited 😀

  2. When I was a kid, I always wanted a house with a turret and a spiral staircase. What am I saying? I still do! I like a spiral staircase except if it’s one of those stone ones without the railing.
