Ailsa over at Where’s My Backpack has given me the perfect opportunity to post a few night shots from my recent Barcelona trip. As someone who now lives in the countryside, where the only light is that from the moon, it opened up new photographic challenges.

I tried light trailing with my Canon, not great but i went totally unprepared. These are fab, very atmospheric and makes me want to go again!
It needs a lot of practice and somewhere firm to rest the camera if you haven’t got a tripod. I took several shots using different shutter speeds, some were pretty dreadful!
Jude that first photo is a stunner. Without a tripod no less. Well done!
If I could have found the timer on the camera settings it might have been even clearer, but I couldn’t see in the dark! I should memorise things like this for the future.
Lots of great shots! My favourite is the first one, with the light trails. I learned how to do that on Westminster Bridge, but haven’t had (or made, actually) the opportunity to try it again.
It is great fun doing the light trails but of course for that you need a busy road and a bridge helps too. Can’t think of anywhere like that here!
No – not many busy bridge in your neck of the woods!
Love that first shot!
Thanks Paula. I was quite pleased with that one too! I don’t often get the chance at night shots.
