postcard from america

“… when we stayed in San Diego several years ago, we were lucky to have an apartment high up in a building overlooking Coronado Island, from where we had the most wonderful sunset views. Although standing out on the balcony to take the photograph was a little hairy to say the least.”

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I like the old sailing ship in the foreground. Having that high viewpoint was very nice, and worth exploiting.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. It was a marvellous apartment Pete, 24th floor I think and nothing in front of it so we had a good view of this tall ship and the bay from one side and all the way down to Seaport on the other. I miss my February visits.

    1. That particular tall ship is the Star of India (built on the Isle of Man in 1863) and is part of the Maritime museum so you can go aboard and look around. There are tall ship sailings out of SD though on other ships.

    1. I should go to the coast more often to capture one, but then you never know whether it is going to be spectacular or just a damp fizz.
