postcard from america

I wasn’t at Miami Beach to admire the sugar-white sand or the aquamarine water, but all the same it was very tempting. And that rustic palisade fence just drew you down to the beach

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. I only looked. Far too hot and humid to go onto the beach unless you were on a sun-lounger under a parasol.

        1. No pressure! I’ve already started but had to stop to feed the other half who’s just back from ‘work’. 🙂

    1. Haha.. a lot of my photos are square these days (though this is an oldie) as I changed the format in the camera.

  1. I like how the fence leads you down to the beach, although I can understand not wanting to linger on a Florida beach – too hot and humid! It does look very inviting though. I’ve grown up my whole life on East Coast beaches, and have now decided they’re simply not for me. It’s funny how our preferences change over the years.

    1. I have never been a ‘beach girl’ as in lying on one, but I enjoy a nice beach walk or simply looking at one from a cliff top.

      1. I used to be a beach girl like you describe, but I no longer have any interest in it. However, walks on the beach (in cool weather) or looking from a cliff top are fine by me!

  2. I feel the same as you, beautiful to look at and walk along in the right temperature, but lazing around isn’t for me!
