Square September: Pink

Becky’s September square photo challenge Day eight!  She would like us to share photos which embrace ‘pink’ –  there could be pink in the photo, the subject or photographer could be ‘tickled pink’*, or indeed looking ‘in the pink’*.  A photo that manages to do all three things is the ultimate offering.

'Painted Lady' - San Francisco

*in the pink’ means in perfect condition, or in good health, and ‘tickled pink’ means delighted.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I like the shape of those windows, but I’d have to pull those curtains open and let the light stream in. 🙂 🙂

      1. Someone doesn’t like the sun. Or want the furniture to fade? 🙂 I don’t much like curtains and I hate blinds.

        1. Mainly blinds here, but I rarely use them. Fortunately we are not really overlooked. Except when my neighbour is out on her balcony which she had built whilst we were away.
          Grr…

        2. We are in a courtyard so have a few neighbours and in a hamlet so about a dozen or so houses, but I can only see one other.

    1. And facade it is, usually the rest of the building is quite bland. I’d love to have had a peek inside one of these houses though.

  2. That reminds me of the pink houses in Notting Hill, and Primrose Hiil. Parts of London where old houses are often painted in quite bright colours.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Never enough time, but at least you can go back quite easily. A pretty short flight if I remember well.

  3. I love those rounded windows — not quite sure about the shade of pink, but quite tasteful compared to some houses here. Especially when I was a kid and really bright turquoise was “the thing.”

    1. Better than the bright pinks! I rather like blue houses, but would prefer a stone built house with blue wooden shutters.

      1. Much better than bright pink! I rather like charcoal-y colours and very dark blue. Not much chance of a stone house for me here.

        1. That sounds lovely — even without shutters. But if you did decide to add them … painted pink perhaps 😉

    1. Probably by far the most expensive. I think these Victorian houses go for several million dollars!
