Time x Square

Time for another square month hosted by the lovely Becky. The photos don’t necessarily have to be of a timepiece, but are open to interpretation to reflect time in some way, or sayings such as ‘the passing of time’, ‘a stitch in time’, or time running away from you.

Day Three and a variation on the theme. Family time. Appropriate for this time of year although I personally loathe travelling in December. The days are too short, the weather can be abysmal, the sun is low and often in your eyes when driving. Public transport is packed and even more of a shambles than normal.

So I shall stick with this lovely family of swans, daddy (the Cob in the foreground) making sure that nothing comes close to his little family.

To join in with the Squares challenge please visit Becky for instructions. Remember the only proper rule is that the photo must be SQUARE.

December Squares | Day Three

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I’m with you about winter travelling, Jude. I am loath to go anywhere until March! 🙂
Nice swan family, with that sense of Spring, and new life.
    Best wishes, Pete. x

    1. Thanks Pete. Just discovered that WP has introduced its new Editor – Gutenberg – which consists of blocks! I always use the classic editor and although I can still access it, it doesn’t appear to want me to use copy a post which I find very helpful with these sorts of challenges! Why oh why do they keep changing things to meet the LCD. I don’t need blocks to design a page, I am not five years old! I just wish these new designers would consider that there are a lot of people who still prefer to use a real computer. Feeling very grumpy now…

        1. Just do not activate it Sue. That is what I did, to see what it was like and immediately hated it. Then I thought I was stuck with it, until I found a couple of ways to get shut of it. Now they have three editors! And I think the classic editor (original one) is okay until 2022. After that I shall probably have to give up blogging!

      1. I tried it the other day and thought aaargh!!!! It’s similar to Squarespace which is beginning to dominate the commercial blogging world which is probably why WP has changed. But I’m with you – noooooo!

  2. This is a lovely photo, Jude. I noticed all the comments re the classic editor page. I agree. It’s so much easier to use than newer versions and it’s what I use too. I’ll be cross if they remove it.

  3. It looks like you were quite close, if so you’re braver than me! I still use the classic editor as well. I don’t mind change but I like to choose for myself.
