Bonus Greens.

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

The detail in these photos is so beautiful, Jude. I just published a new “green” post.
Beautiful!
Now how did you get that close to a starling’s wing? 🙂 🙂 I have two peacock feathers on brooches, from Lisa’s wedding. And isn’t it peacock blue? 🙂 Have a lovely day, Jude!
I’m afraid the starling was dead. Attacked by a crow as it flew over the garden. As for the peacock feathers, the eye is blue but the other feathers are definitely green. And my mother would be horrified by your brooches, she’d never have peacock feathers inside the house.
You see- I knew I shouldn’t make clever comments. They always come back to bite you 🙂 🙂 Poor thing! And I agree with you about the feathers. Lisa’s were bleached. Would that help?
I suspect not! But she’s not here to worry about them so I guess you’re ok 🙂 but doesn’t bleaching them kind of take away the beauty of a peacock feather?
In her house peacock blue is the living room colour and she does have a few feathers about the place, but the wedding colours really wouldn’t have gone with normal coloured peacock feathers. They are rather elegant in beige. 🙂 If you like that kind of thing.
Lovely. And I have yet to post …
Still got 20 days left 🙂
Saturday then …
oh that starling – just fabulous. They are such beautiful birds
Sadly, this was an ex starling. But the do have lovely plumage.
oh poor thing, explains why you got such a lovely close up!
Attacked by a crow I think whilst flying over my garden. Died in my hands, but nothing I could do.
awww so sad, at least it died in a lovely place
That is soooo good Jude 🙂 🙂
Lovely bird close-ups, Jude. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
Feathers are very interesting when seen close up.
They are! x
A starling’s wing is so much less common a subject than a peacock’s. Good for you.
A sad story behind that one, but I have photographed starlings from a distance and their feathers are iridescent.
Oooooh!
Beautiful shots, Jude. I’ll be joining next week. Doing a bit of black and white this week.
janet
Black and white is good. I’ll pop over for a look.
Today I’m doing Thursday Doors, but the two days before and tomorrow are B&W.
