Life in Colour

To find out more about this year’s photo challenge here on Travel Words, please read this post.

This month we will be looking for Pink. A delicate colour that means sweet, nice, playful, cute, romantic, charming, feminine, and tenderness, is associated with bubble gum, flowers, babies, little girls, cotton candy, and sweetness.

Not all pinks are pastel – these deep pink waterlilies pop out from amongst the blue-green leaves.

“I gave to pink
the nerve of the red,
a neon pink,
an unreal pink.”
~ Ella Schiaparelli

What unusual shades of pink can you find?

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Love those water lilies – such a really vibrant deep pink colour which is hard to miss.

I may not have found unusual shades of pink but did discover my camera and iPad changed the colour so it looked completely different to real life.
Here’s my link for this week.

    The Pink Side of Life….

    1. So many different shades and tints of each and every colour. When you think about it what colour is pink exactly?

      1. Yes, I suspect you’re right. Need a specialist garden centre and someone to nag the husband into it. He’s all for the easy life so we just pick up a few plants at the local market or garden centre 🤗💕

        1. Crazy weather! That’s a bit warm for me. I think it was around 11 degrees today and pleasantly warm when the sun broke through the cloud. I even sat outside reading for half an hour this afternoon!

    1. I shall pop over for a look now, just been making the most of this lovely dry weather we are experiencing.

      1. Oh lucky you! I’m doing the same here, but our weather is cooler now and at least I can now get some serious gardening done!

  2. This is a particularly nice water lily study. I love the way the curving path of the flowers moves your eye through the whole image.
