A bonus Suffolk Pink
In true Suffolk countryside you will find Wyken Hall Gardens and Vineyard, home to Kenneth and Carla Carlisle. The 400 year old Suffolk barn houses the Leaping Hare country store, which sells some very beautiful wares along with their award winning wine, a café and the Leaping Hare Vineyard restaurant.
The house itself has a copper red lime wash which is what ‘Suffolk Pink’ was in Elizabethan times. The southern veranda has five lovely blue rocking chairs brought over from Mississippi and is shaded by columns of Spartan apples, espaliered high so they do not block the view from the house.
Wonderful house and like Jo love the chimneys. In case my pingbacks aren’t getting through I might add my latest here if that’s OK Jude
Thanks Brian!
What a lovely place!
It truly is. Nice garden too and a shop and restaurant on site, though the shop is a little expensive for my tastes.
Aren’t they usually!
They are if within commuter distance of London!
They certainly have a lot of pink houses in Suffolk.
But ‘English’ and ‘Wine’ are two words that were never intended to go toghether! 🙂 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
Ah, but the white wines are actually quite nice. And some excellent English sparkling wines. The cooler temperature suits the whites.
I only drink red wine, and so far not one made in England. 🙂 x
I prefer red, and yes, haven’t come across an English one. I prefer the new world varietals.
Just had a nice Spanish Red tonight. Not as heavy as Australian Shiraz, though I like that too. 🙂 x
A beautiful house with well-maintained grounds. I’ve seen a pink building, Casa Rosada, in Buenos Aires. My mind id on spring flowers though. Here’s my entry:
Thanks Natalie. Your flowers are beautiful.
My dogwood is finally in bloom. Enjoy!
That is one gorgeous tree Cee!
Here I am, all pinkier today! Cady https://thecadyluckleedy.com/2021/04/25/life-in-color-pinkier/
