Andrew of ‘Have Bag, Will Travel’ is running a weekly challenge all about photographs of washing lines. I knew I had a couple of rather lovely washing lines, but a look through my archives resulted in a few more. My final washing line (unless I come across another one) this is again from Venice and one of my favourites. This building definitely needs to be re-rendered.
I once posted this in black and white
I like this – and I really like your b/w-with-a=pop-of-colour!
I actually remember that ‘partial colour’ photo. In many ways I prefer it, as the building looks even older.
Best wishes, Pete. x
Now that’s a compliment from you Pete as you usually prefer the original images 😉
I know, I’m ‘fickle’. 🙂 x
Hahahah!
Love this image, Jude!
Classic Venice I think! Crumbly buildings with shutters! Though no water in this photo.
Absolutely!
I remember reading that in Venice there is a requirement that all paint has to be approved by the city and must look immediately aged and weathered.
You are making that up! 😂
It is true. Also in Burano it is forbidden to change the colour of the house without getting planning approval.
That’s a very bright, fresh looking tablecloth! Big contrast with the decayed building.
Quite. It really grabs your eye. Did you look at the b&w one?
I did, and I see I liked it then too, though I don’t remember. I think I prefer it “real”.
Showed up that cloth though!
I actually prefer the black and white with the splodge of orange 🙂 🙂
I like color way too much to prefer a b&w over the subtle background color with the splashes of bright color. This is really a nice one, Jude.
Thanks Pat.
Lots going on in that shot and so many contrasts. I really like it.

Thank you 😊
