Life in Colour

Well we are half way through this year of celebrating colour. Six down and six to go. If you have been following this blog you will know what colours have been and gone which may give you an idea of what is to come.

January: Brown
February: Yellow
March: Green
April: Pink
May: Purple
June: White or silver

To find out more about this year’s photo challenge here on Travel Words, please read this post.

This month we will be looking for Blue. A primary colour that we look upon almost every day. But don’t forget about the different hues which include indigo and ultramarine, cyan and the other blue-greens such as turquoise, teal, and aquamarine. Blue also varies in shade or tint; darker shades of blue include ultramarine, cobalt blue, navy blue, and Prussian blue; while lighter tints include sky blue, azure, and Egyptian blue.

It’s nature’s colour for water and sky, but is rarely found in fruits and vegetables. It also happens to be my favourite colour.

paragraphs full of facts
and give them a weight
and shape no greater than
that of a cloud of blue

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Not promising anymore though I’m sure I’ll do at least one post 🙂 Blue’s a fun colour and you did give a hint with your turquoise sea images.

      1. Why I wrote my previous comment regarding promising to participate things happen. Oh well, if not posting then you know at some stage I’m lurking around reading your posts 🙂

  2. Ah well, it had to happen 🤣💕 But I’m highly unlikely to take part. The laptop finally cracked up yesterday. As good a time as any. Happy blue month! My blues stem from not being able to watch Wimbledon 🤗💕💕

    1. Well you have needed a new laptop since forever woman, so go out and get one! Shame about wimbles, is it only available on the BBC?

      1. BBC and the Eurosport channel I don’t have 😳💕. It’s ok. It’s a lovely day to sit and watch the yacht club kids and have a bit of a stroll 🤗💕

  3. Great choice, blue is just sublime in all its various shades. I know I have so much blue in my archives. Will have to check them out this month.

  4. Blue is Not my favourite colour, but I’m finding that I’m more and more drawn to it – I’m sure enjoying this months contributions will banish my blues forever!
Your blues are sublime, indeed, Jude – an inspiring gallery to get us off the starting blocks!
