Bonus Red

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling. View all posts by Heyjude

What a beautiful Lily – shows how effective red can be as a highlighter, lifting this yellow bud to a very different dimension.
Here are my ‘red’ offerings for this month:
Thanks Emma, I’ll have a look shortly ❤️
Lovely indeed. I’ve got you your Victorian post box: but you’ll have to wait till Monday 😉
Oh, good!
That’s a lovely close-up, Jude. That pollen from those flowers really stained my carpets when I lived in London. 🙂
Best wishes, Pete. x
They have bred pollen-less lilies so that they don’t stain, particularly for the wedding market.
That is a beautiful lily! I love the red speckles and the raindrops on the petals. Here is my next contribution to RED. https://hairbellsandmaples.com/2021/08/18/life-in-colour-challenge-2021-august-canopies/
Thanks Megan. Yes, raindrops really add to the photo.
It is not exactly the time – even we have already gingerbread in the shops (Mid August!!!!)
Ah, well, there’s nothing wrong with gingerbread!
Fabulous macro of a wonderful flower Jude 🙂 🙂
Thanks Brian. I rather like this one too.
