Life in Colour

To find out more about this year’s photo challenge here on Travel Words, please read this post.

The world is a kaleidoscope¹ of colour so this month let’s celebrate that with the brightest / most colourful images you can find.

Rainbow Lorikeet

Let me, O let me bathe my soul in colours;
let me swallow the sunset and drink the rainbow.”

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Your lorikeet is glorious Jude – oh those colors! It doesn’t seem fair vs the poor little sparrows or the dark ravens and crows but who ever said life is fair?! A beautiful image and a fun challenge. I wish I’d seen it before “you choose” this week or I’d have “double-dipped”. Hope you generate lots of fun response!

  2. A life in colour would not be complete without the rainbow lorikeet, Jude. They are surprisingly hard to capture as they blend in so well to their colourful surroundings, don’t you think?
    Though I have been late to arrive to your challenge, I have found your quotes and the title of the challenge incredibly inspiring both for photos and for poetry, so thank you.
    PS. I have read 2 or 3 of Khahil Gibran books. They are immensely powerful.

    1. Thank you for joining me Tracy, and yes that lovely little parrot is perfect for this month. It’s certainly testing us right now!

      1. I think we will all be in that situation within weeks of one another, Jude Barely any restrictions remain in Australia. Let’s hope there will be enough essential workers to go around once everybody tests positive at the same time, not to mention enough Covid tests, PPE, oxygen, anti-virals. I’m not sure about you, but public proclamations that are inconsistent with the health advice worry me somewhat. Ho, ho, ho. Take care, Jude.
