I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

He prefers Brown sauce but like a lot of things it doesn’t agree with him these days xx
Ah the joys of getting old. My current no go are eggs. Only the runny ones though, so hard boiled is OK and eggs in cakes, but not quiches or scrambled or omelette which I used to love. Make me want to throw up immediately 🤢
Weirdo! It is funny though. Tends to be milk that affects me most xx
You definitely have been planning on this challenge for years! And no, I haven’t had a fishwich. Don’t want one, I think.
Yes! Gorgeous ones in Monterey and also one each somewhere along the Big Sur route which was unbelievably expensive and was the first concrete proof that California requires a budget from a different planet!!
Fillet with tartar sauce in chunks of rustic bread. Probably encrusted with diamonds judging by the price. However the Monterey one was just as delicious and not so budget busting, and what with the clam chowder was one of two of Monterey’s many seafood delights.
Never heard of it, but assume fish sandwich
Fish finger butties were popular here at one time.
A fish buttie? I often make them for Mick. I hate the things. Nice bike though xx
I used to make fish finger sandwiches for the kids, maybe this is similar.
That’s what I make for Mick. He’s a big kid. No tomato sauce though!
No? I’d have to have ketchup.

I’m sure I must have made a fish finger sandwich back in the day.
I’ve yet to experience this culinary delight.
Not a fish finger person? Nor me now. But when things were tight they were good value for a meal. I expect today there is little fish involved.
I’m sure. Nah, never was a fish finger type.
if a fish buttie then I loved them when I was in Leeds!
Fried fish in a roll?
yup – surprisingly good 😀
Malcolm swears by a chip buttie …
and so he should a good one is amazing
If you say so!
I have had a fish-finger sandwich, so I suppose that qualifies.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I think so.
Another spot-on shot for the challenge! I enjoy a pub-style fish finger sandwich from time to time and imagine these would be similar 🙂
Probably. I’m regretting not trying one.
Nice find!
It finally came in useful.
Good!
I’m sure we also had fish finger sandwiches when young. Another nice red.
Thanks Anabel.

Yay! You are the only ones to have eaten one – was it a fill of fish? Or fish fingers sort of thing?

Ooh, I do like tartare sauce with fish. Also clam chowder. Or any chowder come to that. If it’s good.
The clam chowder in Monterey was outstanding, served in a bread bowl. Just one of the many things to love about Monterey!
I’ve had delicious fish tacos – perhaps that’s close enough.
