Bench Challenge Anniversary

Way back in 2015 – yes that really is ten years ago – I decided to post photos of the numerous benches sitting in my folders. It seemed that I was not alone and suddenly it turned into the Bench Challenge where I set a particular criterion each month and people joined in posting their bench photos. It was a lot of fun and I met a lot of wonderful bloggers through it.

In the mist – somewhere in the Lake District Bodmin Moor (Siblyback Lake)

This year I am returning to mark the occasion by posting a bench photo every Sunday. There will not be any particular theme set this year so it’s not really much of a challenge, but if there is anyone out there who still has a bucketful of bench photos and would like to join me, then please do so by adding a link in the comments or a link to my post in yours (a pingback) and I will happily pop along to admire.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

    1. I was there and I can’t remember either! We had a couple of greyish days, one was when we walked around Grasmere but I don’t recollect such low cloud. The other was Ullswater. But I don’t recollect the bench! Maybe it was somewhere else entirely!

    2. I just had to try and find this photo. Not the Lakes at all! But much nearer to home. Siblyback Lake (reservoir) on Bodmin Moor. Duh! I shall alter the caption now.

        1. Apparently not. But often the water comes through the granite hours after the rainfall. It all depends on the direction of the rain and wind and this time it seemed to be from the north.

        2. The lie-in hasn’t done me any good. Tired eyes today. But spoke with a lovely lady on the phone sorting out a credit card. She told me to make a sandwich, have a piece of cake and do just one more thing today! A breath of fresh air compared to some who work in the bereavement teams of so many companies.

        3. So have you done it? Sandwich and cake? The one more thing will keep. Just mopped the floors while I wait for the sun to come back out xx
