Home thoughts from abroad is a new series on Travel Words featuring a single photograph that reminds me of a country visited and showing something that uniquely identifies it as being ‘abroad’.
A day trip from Prague in a cold October took me to Český Krumlov a town dominated by a large castle. After visiting the castle and having a typical Czech lunch in a restaurant in the square we were left to our own devices for a couple of hours. I immediately left the rest of the group and went wandering around the streets seeking interesting things to photograph. I was not disappointed. With its cobbled streets, quirky shops and architecture, the town is a tourist’s delight. As we departed in the late afternoon snow flakes began to fall…
