Travel Theme: DRY

Ailsa of “Where’s My Backpack?” is fed up with all the rain (and I think many people in the UK will go along with her sentiments) so is looking for some DRY photos in this week’s theme. If you would like to join in with her challenge then please do. Everyone is welcome.

brolliesBrollies can be more than useful in the heat too 🙂

I wish they’d swapped brollies though to match their outfits better!

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. Hi Jude, I’m back!!! Love this, great photo and yes, wouldn’t it be wonderful to think that we need a brolly to keep the sun off instead of the rain. Checking in from a very wet Somerset with yet more rain on the way tomorrow… xx

    1. Glad to see you Sherri. Hope it wasn’t too costly! I did see the sun today, briefly, but in the end the rain won. Again. I do hope you don’t live in the Levels!

      1. Thanks Jude 🙂 £125 later but at least I can actually type now! A little sun earlier today, but now very cold and looking very ominous for more rain, as with you. We aren’t too far (the area where we go walking all the time is still under water) but I am very thankful to say we are ok!

        1. Walking? By the time it is dry enough to venture out I shall have forgotten how to. Either that or we’ll all develop webbed feet 😉

        2. Ha ha! Yes, we haven’t been walking there for ages because of the flooding. I was dreaming of those dry, sunny days long, long ago… 😉

  2. Great theme for the UK at present Jude. Mind you, those Venetian ladies should know all about floods!
Our local small river has flooded last night, but a few hundred yards away from our house at least, so we will be OK.
    Regards as always, Pete.

    1. Let’s hope it stays a few hundred yards away Pete! Though looking at the weather forecast it seems most of the rain is due in the west this week!
