the food market
A food and drink festival is held in Ludlow twice a year. In spring and autumn. In addition a regular outdoor market is held every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; a local produce market twice a month on a Thursday and sometimes there is a craft market on a Sunday. I have posted some of the window displays for the festivals, now let’s take a look at some of the stalls:
Cheese
I quite like a “Mojito” cocktail. Preferably in a glass.
Sausages, Sausage Rolls and Pies
Even those delightful heart-shaped boards can be bought from the market.
Eggs
Plenty of eggs to go around.
Jams and Preserves
and with so many jams and chutneys you are spoiled for choice.
…so many other delights
So drink up…
buy British…
and ❤ your local market!
Lisa of the blog NorthWest Frame of Mind has decided to run a different project over the next 24 weeks. To try to show what is happening in different parts of the world (if you all join in) at a particular time of day. If you would like to participate you have until next Saturday midnight to post a photo or write about what is happening in your part of the world. This week is between 09:00 – 10:00. I hope you’ll join in! See links for more details.
I love looking round food markets if I get the chance, and I usually want to buy everything!
Fortunately I am not tempted as I have this on the doorstep all the time, but I do still like visiting other markets.
We don’t have a good local food market, but occasionally a French market comes to town, and that is fun to look round.
Love the French breads – we get a stall here by a French baker and his bread is looovely!
Mmmmm, yum 🙂
I wouldn’t mind a morning prowl around this market – although I’ll pass on marmite mice! I need to stock up on chutney though – and eggs are wonderfully photogenic. I love the surprise of your treated photos – in this case the olives.
(I missed your second Autumn Leaves post – keeps telling me “page not found”)
That’s odd – page not found error – as I haven’t renamed the post or anything. Can you see it now?
The olive stall is one of my favourites 🙂 and I wanted to demonstrate the different greens.
Markets are one of my favourite places to search out when ever I am in a new place Jude and this looks like a really good one. So many different and tempting products
Hi Jude, This looks like a perfectly wonderful fair. I’d love to be there and sample the wares. They look delicious.
Ron
Thanks Ron, I am certainly lucky having this on my doorstep! Doesn’t help to keep the weight off though 😉
Cool ideas, projects, themes, perspectives, photos, photoblog! Rainy greetings from Berlin, Daniel
