The Piedras Blancas elephant seal rookery spreads over 6 miles of shoreline around Point Piedras Blancas on the central coast of California.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

        1. We were very close – overlooking the beach where there were hundreds of the seals. I only had my Fuji bridge camera then.

    1. He is a she! And yes, very noisy as I recall. Had a decent night’s sleep at last – managed to get to Boots yesterday for some medication which helped. Think I am going to need my strength for the week ahead! Bon Voyage 😀

      1. Just indulging myself with a red, from Quinta da Tor, though I probably shouldn’t as we had wine and a very nice Italian meal at lunchtime, at Manchester airport. Who would have thought the two would be compatible? Damp and windy here this evening but still 17C and a great forecast for next week so who’s complaining? What time are you away in the morning? Good luck! 😦

    1. They were all a bit noisy but then again with huge males lumbering around and almost squishing all the babies I think she had reason to be shouting.
