I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Nice composition, that red mouth really jumps out
My favourite image of those seals. The males are rather impressive too with their large proboscis.
You looked to be quite close, but I’m assuming you used the zoom lens.
We were very close – overlooking the beach where there were hundreds of the seals. I only had my Fuji bridge camera then.
Deep Throat! 😀 That selective red just jumps out and makes the shot.
I have always loved this image. Thanks for appreciating it too 🙂
Is he bored or shouting his mouth off? 😃 On the coach heading to Manchester. Hope you feel better this morning xx
He is a she! And yes, very noisy as I recall. Had a decent night’s sleep at last – managed to get to Boots yesterday for some medication which helped. Think I am going to need my strength for the week ahead! Bon Voyage 😀
oh so sorry to hear you have been poorly. Sending hugs xx
Thanks Becky. I hate colds…
Triple hugs on their way xx
Just indulging myself with a red, from Quinta da Tor, though I probably shouldn’t as we had wine and a very nice Italian meal at lunchtime, at Manchester airport. Who would have thought the two would be compatible? Damp and windy here this evening but still 17C and a great forecast for next week so who’s complaining? What time are you away in the morning? Good luck! 😦
Not sure I’d want to get into a debate with her!!
And you should have seen the size of the guy behind her!
Hope you were taking this from a distance!
And no monochrome conversion needed!
I can see why you like this shot so much. It works very well indeed.
Best wishes, Pete. x
The red jaw looks a bit cross!
They were all a bit noisy but then again with huge males lumbering around and almost squishing all the babies I think she had reason to be shouting.
