Sunset over Hyde Street Pier San Francisco

People don’t often associate San Francisco with beaches, but there are some around. One of the reasons I like to stay in Fisherman’s Wharf is the fact that I can go down to the beach at sunset and see the colours over the bay. The historic ships at Hyde Street Pier add to the atmosphere.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. That is one advantage Becky has over me at Olhao. She’s much closer to beautiful sunsets. 🙂 🙂 I had the most beautiful sunset walk when we were in Spain last weekend. And I’m sure I’ve seen that boat somewhere. 🙂

      1. At that time of year I’m sure you could but the weather is going to be a gamble. Well, it will anyway! Just book it girl! Something to look forward to. Jet2 has flight sales up. 🙂 🙂

    1. My favourite place to stay in SF – in fact the only place I have stayed. People slag it off, but I find it very convenient for transport and a great place to walk around.

  2. I would never guess that this was a photo taken in San Francisco! The tall ship in the mid-ground looks good against the backdrop of the sunset.

    1. Even the ferry boat was interesting to have a walk around. I don’t know why people are snobbish about Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s a wonderful area.
