This month we will be looking for Yellow. A bright and happy colour and often associated with spring. The sun in the sky, heat and light. What yellows can you find in your world?
Colman’s is an English manufacturer of mustard and other sauces, formally based and produced for 160 years at Carrow, in Norwich, Norfolk. The plant closed its doors in July 2019. The last run of Colman’s mustard jars on the line replaced the “best before” date with the message “Norwich’s Last. By Its Finest. July 24th 2019”

Thank you 😊
So sorry to hear Colman’s Mustard closed its doors. Theirs is/was a one and only!
Closed that factory. It is still in production.
That is debateable, production has also been moved to Germany. We are already finding that the jarred mustard is not as it used to be: much milder and with less mustard. We are now buying the dry powdered mustard and mixing our own. I do hope some indi small company will set up in the Norwich area and continue the tradition of making good quality pure mustard, and find an opportunity of designing an iconic British conditment.
Now that IS a lot of yellow, Jude! I visited the mustard museum many years ago and I hope it remains open despite the closure of the plant. A shame about the closure, as it was so long established – I wonder where they are making it now, which I fear may be outside the UK…will check it out…
Fortunately a new factory near Norwich!! 👍
