Heyjude
I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Nice capture, especially with the bees and that little red bug. Is it an ant?
Common red soldier beetle. It is a beneficial garden insect as the adults eat aphids, and the larvae eat other pests.
A very useful garden friend!
Indeed.

Thanks Lisa.

Your bees in allium are perfect, Jude. I thought you’d like a look of my field bean blossom – the most extraordinary colour this year: https://tishfarrell.com/2021/05/15/purple-on-the-plot-bean-flowers/
