Seen in south-east England over Easter – so much blossom lining the suburban streets and the parks alongside the River Thames, from the purest white and the palest of pink to a deep magenta red.

I am going to join in with Dawn’s Festival of Spring which will last for 10 -12 weeks in celebration of this season.

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

Such a joyful sight, isn’t it? Have a wonderful May, Jude!
So lovely, I agree with Jo a joyous sight 🙂
These are beautiful, Jude!
Don’t you have them around your area Sue? There seemed to be blossom trees everywhere around Esher and Kingston.
Oh yes I do, but not in quite such numbers, Jude
A fantastic and frivolous festival!
Great alliteration!
😉
Bright and happy pictures to start the day off right 🙂
Who doesn’t love blossom? Quite a few good examples around here, but it is very delicate and easily affected by the easterly winds.
Best wishes, Pete. x
I wondered whether the blossom in Surrey held on longer because it is quite sheltered in the suburbs, they was barely a breeze during my stay, but saying that it has been quiet here too this past month. No complaints from me!
Yes, the colors are so lovely!
Beautiful….
Thanks for sharing. I miss the spring blossom
We don’t see much here either in my bit of Cornwall. Though the blackthorn and hawthorn hedges are magnificent.
We’ve never been to UK in spring. I hope we get there one day.
April and May are usually the best months.
We usually come in September and have always had perfect weather. 🌞
Sadly that’s not always the case. You must let me know when you come again so that I can book a holiday myself! 😂
Tee hee!! We’ve always been very lucky.
