Andrew of ‘Have Bag, Will Travel’ is running a weekly challenge all about photographs of washing lines. I knew I had a couple of rather lovely washing lines, but a look through my archives resulted in a few more. And this weekend whilst searching through photos for next month’s squares I came across another washing line in Cornwall.
Multi-coloured pegs in use here and I can’t help thinking that wall badly needs rendering. In fact it is very reminiscent of the Venice described by Andrew today!

This month we will be looking for White or Silver. White is technically not a colour, white light comprises all hues on the visible light spectrum. White is the lightest colour and is achromatic (having no hue). White is seen to be pure and clean. A wedding dress, the pure snow, a swan’s feather, fluffy clouds, milk and the Milky Way.
Silver is a precious metal, indicating wealth. “Born with a silver spoon in your mouth”. A cool colour. Sparkling silver water. The light of the moon. It represents feminine energy, pure, emotional and sensitive.

The Priors Halton Loop was a walk for Restless Jo in 2014 when I was living in Ludlow, South Shropshire.
With the recent good weather I have been trying to get out for a daily walk. Last Sunday we set off towards Priors Halton farm, about a mile or so outside of Ludlow. It is one of the few flattish walks around here, as Ludlow is surrounded by hills.
Most walks in and around Ludlow begin with crossing a bridge. This time Dinham, with a glance at ‘Ludlow Beach’, as locals name the area on the Teme where it is often safe to paddle. Repairs are being made to the weir (including a by-pass to allow salmon moving 50 miles upstream to spawn an easier way through the river ) has meant changes to the ‘beach’ too. And today there are many more youths than usual. It is a hot day, though they are a bit big to swim in the extremely shallow waters – amazing to think how high the water level was only a couple of months ago.
Instead of heading left along the Bread Walk or ahead up the Donkey Steps onto Whitcliffe Common, today we are continuing along the road towards Priors Halton. The road ends at Priors Halton farm, but you can continue on foot or bicycle to Lady Halton or Oakly Park and even Bromfield where you will find Ludlow Food Centre, a café and restaurant. I know I am a little late for this challenge, but it’s taken me a day or two to sort out all the photos taken during our first holiday in two three years! And I think this one fits the brief.
This is as far as I got walking up to the Glastonbury tor on a rather warm day. My knees were protesting at the number of steps and although almost on the flat as I reached this point, I felt that I had got close enough. There will be more Glastonbury posts to come once I have sorted out the photos and found the energy to blog.

Aubergines / Eggplant / Brinjals are not to everyone’s taste, but to a non-meat eater they are often a substitute in many a meal. A ratatouille sauce – red onions, garlic, aubergines, courgettes, peppers and tomatoes, basil and thyme can be served with pasta, rice or just a hunk of crusty bread.
They come in all sorts of colours and shapes too. But despite the name I think this one is definitely purple!
This is the last week for purple so get yours in before next Sunday when we move to a different colour.
