Su Leslie (aka Zimmerbitch) invited me to join her and other bloggers posting a travel photo a day for ten days. The deal is I also invite someone else each day to join in, and ping-back to my post. But as several bloggers I know are already busy with the challenge I am going to resort to inviting βanyone who feels like joining inβ
This one is especially for you Su. Have a lovely Christmas and a happy new year ππΉππ²β¨
oh isn’t this fabulous – a wonderful collage showing some of the very best of NZ. I did like the North Island the most
Really? I didn’t get to the south but thought that was the one with the best scenery?
It is if you love mountains, but having spent time in the rockies, pyrenees and alps I felt I could have spent more time in north.
I think my mountain days are past. But I do like looking at them.
Hopefully it won’t be too long before you can head for a range . . . . .
What a lovely patchwork of images. NZ is somewhere I’ll now never get to, but I would love to have travelled there.
I had hoped to return before now, but life got in the way, now I just don’t know.

What a marvellous gallery, Jude. You’ve made a magical vicarious travel portal!
Ah, if only we could be there and not here.
Wouldnβt that be a wild Christmas. We might even run out of booze!!
Aotearoa to you, too.
Thanks Steve π
There is a town called Napier in New Zealand that I always wanted to visit. It apparently has some of the best remaining Art Deco architecture anywhere in the world.
Best wishes, Pete. x
‘There are 140 Art Deco buildings, doors, sculptures, and more in this town. The Daily Telegraph building is a classic example of the Art Deco architecture and design found throughout Napier. It was completed in 1933. I instantly fell in love with these Art Deco bronze figures on the main street in town.’ (Found online.)
Yes, it is a town that appeals to me too. I hope I can make one more visit over there, but it won’t be for a while yet.
Was there a couple of weeks ago, and yes, it does have some wonderful Deco architecture. The city was largely destroyed by earthquake and ensuing fire in 1931, so the re-build was quite a deliberate exercise in planning and design.
Thanks, Su. π
I have a nephew lives in Napier and he never told me about this! Now I have something more to talk about than the Covid disaster.
I love Art Deco, and everything about that trend. π
Thank you Jude. This is lovely and I really hope that youβre able to get back here before too long. There will always be a savvy chilling in our fridge for you.
Happy Christmas
Thanks Su. I’ll definitely look you up.

Super collage.
Thanks Mari.
Lovely images, Jude!
Thanks Sue. It was a lovely trip.
Maybe Iβll get there one day, but who knows?
Never say never.
Such a beautiful country! We enjoyed our holiday there and it’s likely NZ will be the first international travel we’ll be able to do in the future.
Hope you don’t have to wait too long.
