A bonus brown this week as I spotted this on my Sunday walk.
On returning home and reading through the posts in my Reader I realised that these two photos were also perfect for another challenge, though these were not taken using my macro lens, but my phone camera.
There is something inherently beautiful about a skeleton leaf
or in this case, petal.

This week I went out looking for countryside browns in my local area. There was no shortage of them, including mud.

Shropshire has an odd name for its alleys or passageways, particularly those that pass through a building from one street to another – shuts – derived from shoots as in “shoots through”. In Ludlow there are a few of these as well as several cobbled lanes and hidden courtyards which date from the medieval period.

This month we are looking for Brown. The colour of Mother Earth. What browns can you find in your world?
I’m sure most people don’t think of beaches together with the colour brown – we associate a beach with golden or white sand, blue sky, blue sea and brightly coloured beach accessories. So it is an interesting experiment to go to a familiar place with a different perspective in mind.
This is the first post of 2017 from my flower blog “Earth Laughs in Flowers” which I ran from 2013 – 2020. Since then it has been in hibernation awaiting travels to new gardens. Which didn’t happen last year for obvious reasons and may well not happen this year, though I remain hopeful.
