Walking along the shoreline in San Diego I was virtually swamped by an explosion of colour – first these vibrant vending machines offering me a multitude of free advertising leaflets and then a stall full of colourful ceramic fishes.

I was definitely getting into the carnival spirit
and by the time I reached the kites down at Seaport Village
my energy levels were rising
and I was feeling very happy. After all it was February and here I was walking in sunny California π
Don’t you feel more cheerful now?

Colour always makes me feel cheerful too! π
Definitely a vibrant place π
I had a lot more colourful images too! Have neglected to write about San Diego. Must do something about that.
I only spent a day there and it’s a place I’d love to revisit. But more than that I’d love to do Yellowstone and the Canyon π¦
Why the sad face?
Well, it’s never going to happen π π
And why not? I still have to go over to see Yellowstone and if the OH doesn’t want to go then I shall be calling on you! He’s not keen on long haul any more, but there are still places I want to visit.
Just do it Jo, they will blow your mind… π
Definitely more cheerful ππ
Oh, good!
After a night of gales and lashing rain here in Norfolk, I wish I was walking in San Diego right now, Jude!
Regards as always, Pete. x
So do I Pete, so do I. I miss my visits to California at this time of year.
Yes very cheerful, just what I needed x π x
Just looking at the photos brought back lots of happy memories and I see the sun today. Yay!
Yes I do. These colours are not evident in our streets. Loved the colour of the fish and the wind decorations.
I hadn’t realised how colourful it was! And that’s without looking at my Old Town photos where I know it was very colourful (Mexican). I feel the urge to write some posts about this part of California. π
I would enjoy seeing them.
It’s true that bright colours really do perk a person up considerably. This has been a very cheerful post on another grey January morning.
Those ceramic fish are sooo cute! I know exactly where I’d want to put one π
Yes, Jen’s challenge came at the right time for us in the northern hemisphere. I was very tempted by the fish!
Are you a Pisces too? π
No. I am a Libra (doesn’t it show?). I just liked them π
hahaha! I guess I don’t see the audacious lion – only the creative soul π
One who is continuously trying to balance things – hence dithers for ages to make a decision…
I love color and yes thank you for the injection of happiness. I’m also very keen on California so double the smiles. π
I can see you as a California girl π
Thanks Jude, I think it’s a compliment. π
Such an outdoor lifestyle there, I can see you fitting in so well.
We have done some fun things in California like trail runs and my one and only marathon was there too. π
After yesterdays stormy encounter with “Tor” in Norway, we do appreciate the colourful spirits of California and all the happy memories connected. π
Lovely post, Jude!
Dina and the two feather light Sunshine girls π π
Oh, yes, the girls would love the Golden state π Or maybe Florida would suit them better as that is the Sunshine state!
I love San Diego so much! I could live there ! Yes the color makes me feel great. I miss it so much now.
I wouldn’t have mind living there either. It is a vibrant city in more ways than one.
Yes and the weather is perfect. I can deal with winter but it gets long here in MN. Today the sun is out though and it is beautiful and bright white snow!
