Life in Colour

To find out more about this year’s photo challenge here on Travel Words, please read this post.

This month we will be looking for Yellow. A bright and happy colour and often associated with spring. The sun in the sky, heat and light. What yellows can you find in your world?

Lloyds Bank with yellow car – Penzance, Cornwall, England

Thinking about the colour wheel, there is nothing so pleasing as contrasting colours, such as the blue and yellow in this photo. The Belisha beacon and the yellow lichens are an added bonus to this composition.

Heyjude

I have lived in the UK for most of my life, but when young I definitely had wanderlust and even ended up living in South Africa for several years which was a wonderful experience. I now look forward to a long and leisurely retirement doing what I like most - gardening, photography, walking and travelling.

  1. I have seen a few lichens you’d like, along the way, and several yellow cars- one lives in our street, in fact, but that seems too mundane 🙂 🙂 Happy Sunday, Jude!

    1. Nothing is mundane, just think of an interesting perspective. I’d be happier Jo if you could turn off the rain!

  2. Yellow car certainly spices up the composition against all the grey buildings. And of course, blue sky is always a pleasure, especially in your corner of the world at the moment. I’ll be late this week jude, we are on a zen sort of weekend get away in the mountains. Not much yellow around here, all green rain forest.

    1. Ooh, a zen weekend away sounds lovely. Any weekend away would be good. This lockdown is pretty grim. See you later PP 😉

    1. Haven’t seen many like that recently, and I suppose Penzance is out of bounds although it’s only 6 miles away.
